Version possibility like Sibelius

• Apr 11, 2018 - 11:32

I come from Sibelius which I used for many years. I used a lot the feature "Version" - Save as Version. Is this possible in MuseScore? Actually it can be practical to same a version to return to if something goes wrong. I often set up my arrangements for different instruments and this is my most often use of this. Maybe a practise like saving more often with a little more elaborated filenames could be a solution?

Why, after changes do not use Save As and add date and time (eg. Test18041101.mscz)?

To me, rather than having each individual application devise their own different and incompatible schemes for version control, the problem is better solved at the OS / filesystem level. And that is why many OS's and third party cloud services provide this capability. For instance, on Windows, OneDrive gives you some of this automatically, works the same for all programs, which is nice. macOS has something similar I gather, and I've seen similar things as add-ons for Linux. Dropbox and Google Drive also do some of this sort of thing.
