I worked on a MIDI file with a MIDI editor. (an old Cakewalk)
1. added a measure to the head.
2. I used the convert-to-half-durations script. (.CAL Cakewalk Application Language)
3. converted 3/4 to 6/8.
4. I made some adjustments.
5. Then I transferred it to Musescore.
6. Also I made some edits here.
Like I said: It was not an easy way, but it did work.

If you work with these software for a long time (years), you can set a road map in your head quickly.
Maybe it's not the best way, but it works.

I forwarded you answer to Oscar.

You are correct that if you are used to using software and aware of its capabilities it is easy to set a road map in your head that allows you to tackle a new problem. I do this often in MuseScore either when others ask a new question or when I encounter a new challenge in transcribing a score.
