How to use different instruments for different sections
I'm transcribing a work (Mozart's flute and harp concerto) which has different instuments in different movements. I use section breaks but when I add an instrument (a second viola staff), it affects the whole score, not just the section (movement) in which I am. "Hide empty staves" doesn't work for me, since I don't want to hide anything except the instrument that has no part in the first movement. Is there any solution appart from creating different documents? I'm on MuseScore 2.1. The logical approach would be that each section supported a different instrument set.

Add notes of Voice 2 to staves you do not want to hide and make them invisible and mute
There are a few methods that you can use.
In Style->General hide empty staves and uncheck Don't hide empty staves if first system. You can put an invisible note that does not play in voice 2 to force an instrument to be visible in the first system if needed. Not having seen the score, I would bet invisible notes are not neessary except for the flute and/or harp part.
If the number of instruments is the same then in the second movement use an instrument change for the different instrument(s) in the second movement. You would want to make the long instrument name in staff properties blank so you can use Staff text and move it for the instrument name.
Put each movement in its own file. If the number of instruments and staves are the same in every movement you can merge the movements using the album feature after wards. You can assure the number of instruments is the same by adding instruments in the add instruments dialog (press I) and uncheck visible if needed.
If there are staves you never want to hide, simply mark them as such in their Staff Properties.
Any way to do this for 3.6.2?
First pages of the scores are below:

I've made a new section using the Layout Break as shown below in the screenshot.
I've finished the 23rd movement, but I need to find a way on how to maintain some of the instruments on one movement to the other movement. And have the instruments that are called for, appropriately scored in the links above.
I've attached the .mcsz file below, if anyone would like to try it for themselves and probably send it back, if possible.
Many thanks!
