Barré - the score for the holding of Guitar barré not on all strings

• May 10, 2018 - 07:48

Hi, there in Czech forum was posted the question about barré, how to write it the way (brackets), as you can see it in the picture at attachment. Also I would like to ask about the possibillity if there is any in MuseScore, how to write the score for the holding of Guitar barré not on all strings - exactly as shows the image.

The only variant seems in using the key Z, when there is offered the character Left Bracket (in three sizes) in the list - the disadvantage of this entry consists in fact, the size can´t be changed by dragging the handles etc.

The problem with it is (the user has already tried it), that it could be used just for the entry of chord (according to him), but not for the moment, when two notes above themselves are presenting bass and melodic line - aren´t connected. Also they are written, as the common guitar notes are usually entered; see the screenshot of the score.

Maybe here could come the use of voices 1, 2. Also there can be standalone arpeggio symbols connected to the notes of each voice - if that is the case, how it should look, could be entered (Guitar notation).

That´s no problem. The second picture was the sample from the user (obviously without barré) just to describe melodic line and bass - guitar score probably without connection (in this case) to real barré situation. I tried to make a copy of his another example - also write some real score provided, and look at how to handle the aesthetics and what are the limitations with it (the usage of the text style originally developed for something other - see "A" frame outline), if it is acceptable.
