changing the instrument for an entire song
Why is this so difficult? I searched and found some instructions but I don't understand them. I right-clicked and saw a little menu. The selection said to double-click on the word "instrument". I double-clicked and nothing I clicked several times and still nothing. This is very frustrating. I used Musescore in the past and don't remember it being that difficult to change an instrument.

Right click the staff (Stave in England) and select staff properties. The is a button in the middle of the left of the dialog box that says "Change instrument" click the button and select the new instrument. You can change the part, long and short names if you want and press OK to accept the changes. If the new instrument transposes differently than the original instrument, the key signature will change as needed and the notes will be moved appropriately if you are not in concert pitch mode.

Thanks but clicking on "Instrument" or any other name on the menu for that matter does nothing. As I mentioned in my post, I single-clicked and double-clicked but nothing happens

Double-click the word "Instrument", then type Ctrl+A to change its name;
Right-click the text and choose "Change Instrument…" to choose the instrument,
