MuseScore won't open

I am unable to open MuseScore on my Windows 10 laptop. I get a dialog box that disappears before I can read it fully, but it says something about preparing to install Yamaha Steinberg something-or-other. It then goes nowhere - I have to close the program with Task Manager to get rid of the installation dialog box. This happened overnight - MuseSCore was working yesterday. I tried an uninstall/reinstall but got the same results.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
