Musescore with this playback mode?

I think that's a fantastic idea.

My opinion (as a normal user):
it's not easy to read, because everything moves constantly (except for the blue bar).
Also, Forward-reading isn't possible.

However, maybe some day it can be applied as a viewing option for YouTube videos, if desired.

I did many experiment while implementing the MuseScore 2 Youtube feature and came to the conclusion that this looks cool but it's not usable at all.
I strongly disagree with shoogle on this one. In my opinion, it's a very bad idea to implement yet another option only because lots of people asked for it.

It's a question of effort of implementation (and maintenance) vs effort of explaining to people why it hasn't been implemented. In most cases implementation is more work, especially if it contradicts existing principles in MuseScore's design, but in this case there is no contradiction, and Marc appears to have done the work already. Still, if he's happy to keep that video around somewhere then that serves as a good enough explanation of why it was never implemented.

I don't have reason to delete the video, so sure, it can stick around. The code change was something like three lines in adjustCanvasPosition, so it's trivial.

FWIW, I wouldn't propose implementing this as an "option" in the sense of a checkbox hidden in the Preferences dialog. As I think I mentioned when I first showed the video, I'd propose it be tied to the existing Pan button, which for 2.3 is already change to "Pan score" period, not just "Pan score during playback", so people can disable panning completely. To me, the sensible think is to change this from a simple toggle toggle button to a drop down, maybe looking something like the Note Input button. So you could could have three (or potentially more) different pan states: on (the current "conservative" pan), off, and continuous.

But it's only doing if enough users find it useful. I personally am ambivalent, but I recognize it's a popular request.
