Unable to Change Clef
Hello All,
I've opened a MusicXML file into MuseSCore and been delighted with the appearance.
I've a percussion stave for which I'd like to change the clef (throughout the score) from treble to percussion clef. I've followed the instructions here to the letter (Method 2):
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/clefs
...but my treble clef refuses to change. Are the XML settings preventing the clef from changing? How can I over-ride this? I've tried deleting the treble clef, but it will not go away.
I hope a bright person can advise. %-0

MuseScore treats pitched and unpitched staves very differently. Pitched staves can't have percussion clefs, and unpitched staves can't have any other type. If your staff really is meant to be for a percussion instrument but this didn't come through in the MusicXML export/import process, then probably best to just add a new staff that is for an unpitched percussion instrument, and copy the content onto it. There might be other ways but I would tend to prefer getting a good "clean" staff.
If you need further assistance, feel free to attach your score (the MSCZ and/or the MusicXML file) and we can try to advise better.

Many thanks Marc, I have managed subsequently to correct this by playing with the Staff Properties section, telling MuseScore that this is (as you say) an unpitched percussion staff, and then deleting the pitched clef from the score. - The percussion clef is then revealed from settings made in the Staff Properties section.
Thanks again for your advice Marc! :o)
