Problem

I installed package musescore on a "semi-fresh" install of Ubuntu 14.04, but no Audio were playing, actually nothing were being played, so I decided to start musescore on terminal to see the output:

/usr/bin/musescore: 11: /usr/bin/musescore: gawk: not found
Suspending PulseAudio

Besides my audio in all programs stopped working, musescore also didn't work.

Solution

After it I installed the package gawk, reopened musescore and everything worked fine

So, I think that just add the package gawk in the dependencies of the musescore ubuntu package will solve the problem for future installations / users.

Olimon F.

Comments

I got the same reply when I tried to install gawk - but curiously, some sound board functions at least were restored afterwards, although the coverage is still not complete when Musescore is open. But progress is progress....
