Instruments.xml File From Extension Not Displayed in Preference Window

When MDL Extension (0.10) is installed, corresponding instruments.xml file is not visible in Preferences > Score > Defaults Files > Instruments list 2

In addition, any additional files placed in folder ~/Extensions > mdl > 0.10 > instruments is also loaded automatically and not displayed, causing unintended behavior.

This is by design. If you have 5 extensions installed, we can't obviously list them in "instruments list 2". And, indeed, we can load several ".xml" files by extension.
With or without extension installed you can use "instrument list 2" to add your own instruments without installing extensions.
