Triplet question

• Jul 7, 2018 - 23:06

Hi, gang!!!

I wonder (and it is just a question) if there is an international standard agreement about how to write the triplets (and all the irregular figures) number.

It is because I've seen a lot of paper publishing house scores with the number of the figure (3, 5, 7, etc) and a curve line between the first and last note of the figure, but... MuseScore doesn't do it that way.

To me, it is irrelevant but... I want to know if there is some international rule about this.

Blessings & Greetings from Chile!!!

The curved line was popular in the 19th century, and from what I understand, especially in French editions, but modern style guidelines pretty much universally recommend against this, as it is too easily confused with a slur.
