mixed Clef staff & TAB staff

• Jul 24, 2018 - 01:40

I am trying to achieve roughly the following, two diff alternatives given, either OK.

Say I have two lines of 4 meas each in std staff notation.
1) I'd like 4th meas 1st line to use TAB notation instead of std clef (correct word?)
or
2) insert a TAB staff below 1st line only, AND have meas 1-3 completely blank/white/nothing at all, and meas 4 lining up vertically, as if the TAB staff started under meas 4.

The idea is to give specific/detailed playing info for arbitrary measures.

Can this be done? If so, any directions appreciated.

The easiest way to do what you are asking is to right click the first measure you don't want to see and choose Measure Properties. In the list at the top, remove the check in the visible column for the staff you want invisible. You can use the arrows at the bottom left to navigate to the next measure and repeat until all of the measures are marked not visible. When you click OK, the measures will disappear.

Note that this will have no other affect on layout. The space for the invisible measures is in use, so you can't put another instrument in that space without some major monkey business.
