SATB with piano Can the Tenor part be written in the bass clef rather than a treble octave clef?
I would like the tenor part to be on the bass clef, but in the SATB with Piano staff it only allows for treble octave. Is there a way to change the clef to bass?

Easy, drag the bass clef from the Clefs palette to the first measure of the score and it will change it for the entire song.
Yes, but most of your Tenor singers will hate you for that.
You can drag arbitrary clefs from the palette to the stave, even the old C-based tenor clef, if you so desire…

There is a large amount of closed SATB music out there and the Tenor is written on the Bass clef. Why would separating them be an issue?

Because many of us have a bass clef allergy ☺ (i.e. never bothered learning to read it fast enough to be usable.)
That’s actually my main and primary use case for MuseScore: entering stuff I get in closed score format, converting to 4 lines with tenor in violin clef 8vb.

The Tenors in my Choir (and even some Basses) also hated me for using the bass clef (F clef), but I do that only in closed scores. And with the conductor's approval ;-)

OIC, it’s treble clef apparently.
I was actually considering doing it the other way round, as I was recently told by a bass singer that he also can’t read bass clef… some ledger lines below C₃, and we’re good ☺

I knew violin clef means treble clef, I think other languages use the same term. The nice thing about MuseScore is that it is easy to accommodate the different capabilities of singers and some musicians.
For example, a few amateur orchestras have performed symphonies I have transcribed. Many amateur trombonists have never seen an alto or tenor clef so it was easy to replace these with the bass clef they are used to.

I can't read any note, so I'm fine with bass clef ;-)
