Not recognizing tuplets
I am trying to rewrite the horn solo from Tchaikovsky's 5th, but when I get to the tuplets, there are always extra beats I can't get rid of. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Duplets, not triplets?
I guess you want tuplets from a dotted quarter, but created them from a quarter instead, hence get an extra 8th per tuplet

Yeah, that's right. It's working now, thanks
Are you referring to the duplets in measures 13 and 20? How did you enter those? Looks like they are not doing what I'd expect - they are showing as taking the length of a normal eighth, which is why there are leftover beats. My guess is you selected the quarter note duration before pressing Ctrl+2, but you should have selected dotted quarter. So you will need to delete that and re-enter. If you like, you can preserve the notes afterwards using cut & paste to move them a beat later.

Yep, that is what I did. Thank you very much. It works now
