  1. Create a simple score: a treble staff will do.
  2. Add four quarter notes to the first measure:
    articulations_1.png
  3. Add a Marcato to each note. Set the position in "Style > General > Articulations, Ornaments" to "Above staff."
  4. Add staccato dots to each note.

Result: The default position of both articulations appears to change to that defined by the staccato dot style (in Style > General > "Articulations,Ornaments").

Suggestion: Allow both articulations to be set independently using Style > General > "Articulations,Ornaments" and/or "Inspector: Articulation."
