Tablature entry wrong in 2.1 and following (from the German forum)

• Sep 23, 2018 - 15:34

I'm posting this so cadiz1 or other person more familiar with tablature can look into this and either give an answer here or help on the German forum.

Werner Schag in https://musescore.org/de/node/276480 says basically,

When I check the Upside down Box in the Advanced style properties of the Staff properties, the display is correct. The problem is that when I click the top string to add a fret, it shows up on the bottom fret. This was not a problem prior to version 2.1 and continues to be a problem through version 2.3.2.

Indeed. It's an issue, appeared here (some weeks before the 2.1 release): https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/3064/files
To avoid it: use the keyboard instead the mouse to enter notes/frets in the TAB.

Issue soon submitted.

NB: just to say it again: the option to show the tablature upside down is absolutely not for left handed people vs. right handed people. Forget this, it's a misunderstanding and wrong track.
(EDIT: and the option "Upside down" is supported since the first 2.0 version)

This is a datum related to historical tablature and tradition. The Italian tablature (used in Spain and Italy) use numbers to represent the frets, and the top line represents the lowest course/string of the instrument. While the French tablature (France, England) use letters to represent the frets and the top line represents the highest course/string of the instrument.
