Notes not playing back articulation in Musescore2

• Sep 25, 2018 - 08:25

Basically as the title says, staccato doesn't play, marcato doesn't play etc. (trills are fine for some reason), and as well I think the dynamics of one stave of a piano (e.g. right hand) applies to both staves (e.g. both hands) while ignoring the other stave's dynamics. Any way to fix?

Comments

Please share a sample score that shows this. Staccato should play and does for me, as does marcato.

Dynamics by default apply to the part (both staves of a piano), but you can change that via inspector, choices are system, part, and staff

From that template:

<metaTag name="encoding">Finale NotePad 2012 for WindowsDolet Light for Finale NotePad 20122017-08-16</metaTag>
...
      <trackName>Piano</trackName>
      <Instrument>
        <longName>Piano</longName>
        <trackName>SmartMusic SoftSynth</trackName>
        <Channel>
          <program value="0"/>
          <controller ctrl="7" value="101"/>
          <controller ctrl="10" value="63"/>
          <synti>Fluid</synti>
          </Channel>
        </Instrument>

That instrument doesn't have any definitions for how to play those articulations. In order for that template to work properly, apply the same trick to is as you did to the score: 'change' instrument to Piano

This can happen for scores imported from MusicXML, I believe, as the instrument definitions are not always set up properly. If your score came from an MusicXML file, please attach that.
