Splitting Staffs
Hi, I have a piece of music that for most of it only has two melodies and only needs two lines but for the last like, 20 measures or so should split into three different rhythms all in different octaves so is there a way to split a piano line for a couple of measures to have three staffs instead of two. I just don't want an extra line with nothing but rests in it for most of the piece. Thanks.

Just add the extra staff normally, enter the notes where you need them, then go to Style / General and turn on "Hide empty staves" (and uncheck the option not to hide them on the first system, if desired).
