Can't install MuseScore
I have used Musescore before. Yesterday, I wanted to open an already existing file and it didn't work. The windows message "Waiting to be installed" appeared. As I could not fix the problem, I uninstalled the program, downloaded the msi-file anew and tried to install it - but the installation couldn't be finished. First, I thought my Windows Installer might be corrupt and tried to repair it. Nothing changed. Today, I downloaded LibreOffice which also comes with an msi-file and there was no problem at all. So, apparently Windows Installer is not the problem, MuseScore seems to have an issue. Does anybody know anything about it? How can I get back the MuseScore program?

Have you tried "Run as Administrator"? Have the firewall active and the permissions of the antivirus.

I always install programs as an administrator. Neither the firewall nor the antivirus program complain, Musescore is listed as software on my computer - I just can't get it started, it behaves oddly.

try to change the default printer among those installed and see if this changes something. Or you can try to install another printer, maybe a dummy printer, and set it as the default one

Thanks a lot for those links. I could finally solve the problem by replacing the old portaudio.dll file in the bin by a new one thankfully provided for download.
