label percussion staves
Staves labeled Mallets I and Mallets II (1st pdf) share mallet instruments, glock, xylo, vibes, and tubular bells. On wizard (starting off) I've chosen tubular bells and vibraphone because they sound first, then over wrote the names, but their original names remain on the staves throughout despite the changes, resulting in awkward notation. (2nd pdf) Here if I change the name to xylo on the staff, the names xylo is replaced for the entire piece.
Is there a way to keep mallets I and II throughout? Or a better solution?

sample score?

Always appreciate your response, jojo, but... Don't the two PDFs show the problem?
The xylos are playing but the staff name is still tubular bells. I had hoped when I overwrote the names with "Mallets I and II" those names would appear before each staff.
(BTW - "glock" = das glockenspiel ;-) )

They may show the problem, but not the reason for the problem (which I guess to be the Short instrument name, but without a score can't verify)
and see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glock ;-)

You get 4 stars today, jojo! I changed the short names, now I have consistency...
..and that's the long and short of it.

With a sample score the reply would have been quicker and with more certainty

I understand. It is a work in progress. I need to complete it first, then drink enough dry red until I'm convinced I like it, then I'll share it.

I think Jojo is probably correct. You changed the long name but not the short. Without a score we can't tell for sure.
