ADDING STAFF TO SELECTED PARTS OF A SCORE
hello, i am transcribing a song at the moment and i need help in putting brackets only on the selected part of the score (the song actually has a solo part from the very beginning until part 27). when i double-clicked the bracket form the palette, it appeared on the whole score. please help me to delete the other brackets..

What you want to do is not possible without a slightly complicated workaround. Brackets are either displayed or not, you cannot select which systems to show them on.
add a second staff, cut/paste the notes across, use hide empty staves

JoJo's solution is quite clever and a great way to go for this example. But just in case other situations come up for which you want a different approach, you could add brackets from the Symbols palette (press "Z" to display) and position them manually.

"Z" a possible complicated workaround, but there are problems with that. You have to make sure all of the other edits, including system breaks are done before you do this so the brackets don't move around after they are positioned.
I prefer using the bracket using F2 from staff text, and change the font size and move it to the correct spot. You can then copy and paste them to the first beat in the system and move them a little left or right using only the arrow keys. You do need to have all of the other edits made like the "Z" method to ensure the bracket doesn't move left and right. The "Z" method, pretty much requires every bracket to be repositioned both horizontally and vertically.
