Project
There is a difference in the handling of 'hide empty staves'. With system text assigned, it's no longer hidden.
OS: OS X El Capitan (10.11), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0.19704, revision: e96bb91
Comments
I believe this has been fixed in a later development build, yesterday or the day before
Edit: #279062: Hide when empty: Instrument does not work (acts same as Auto) ?
Please provide a sample score (and/or verify using the latest develomnet build)
Here's an example.
It seems that I cannot install/run the nightly built on El Cap.
(MuseScoreNightly-2018-12-11-0723-master-dc5e1d7.dmg)
MSv2.3.2_hide-empty-staves.mscz
OK, I see, the problem is that this text "guitar solo" has the text style of system text, but gets imported as staff text, and hence prevents the staff it is attached to hide, as it isn't empty.
So this is a duplicate of #276235: System text from 2.3.2 imported as staff text (preventing to hide otherwise empty staff)
Checked it, correct. Thanks!
Any chance to get nightly builds for El Cap?
Not currently, I'm affraid (this is macOS 10.11, right? So needs Qt 5.9 and won't work with Qt 5.12)
Yes, 10.11. And this Macbook cannot be upgraded to anything newer.
Well, at least there's a running current beta for my 'old Mac'. So I hope there will be running releases, too.
