MuseScore 3.0 for older macs

It would be nice if musescore 3 or a version of musescore 3 be made for mac os versions under 10.11.12. I currently have 10.11.6 and it is frustrating when programs like this are not compatible with my computer. I am not able to update my macbook as it is from 2009. Is it possible to make a version of musescore 3 that supports usage on older machines?
