page handling and empty staves issues

• Jan 11, 2019 - 11:35

Hi all,
Starting from a score proposed by one of the member of this community (Vivaldi by FREDIPI) I’ve exported the main “tab” to a new file and edited the new file in order to delete all voices referring to second choir.
For as much as I’ve tried by resizing the values related to the page, I cannot manage, there where the voices appear, to make two system staying in the same page.
A second issue I’ve got is that, although I’ve selected to hide empty staves, there are at least two instances where the empty staves are still visible.
Your help will be appreciated. The file is attached. Thanks.

Apologies to be back on this issue, but I've got a file where even eliminating all the page marks and other elements that helped with previous file, with this one I cannot find a solution.
Indeed the first about 8 systems consist of only one bar.
Behavior is consistent whether I use MuS 2 or 3
The file is attached.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The difference is the lyrics. In the score (all instruments & voices on the same page) all of the notes are lined up on the same beat. The existence of lyrics in the Bass part, spreads out the Piano part. Or to put it another way, the bass part spreads out to make room for lyrics.

If I compare system #2 (containing only bar #3) with system #4 (containing bars 5 and 6), they have same type of notes, but while system #2 carry 30 characters of lyric, #4 has 40 characters in total!
Even with more characters # 4 still manage to carry two bars, while #2 carry only one bar.
At the look of it, there must be another parameter influencing the final result... which one?

The difference is that measure 4 requires more space than measure 6, so there isn't enough room on the system for both measures. I selected measures 3 & 4 and pressed the { button 3 times to reduce the stretch of those measures and they are now on the same system. I don't think the results are particularly pleasing though.

If you want more measures per system, you are better off adjusting the scaling, so everything will shrink proportionately.
