Rhythm/ Re-Ptich Inputs behaves unexpectedly in Drumset

• Jan 27, 2019 - 02:10

I'm on Ubuntu 18.10, MuseScore 3.0.1
Could anyone try to reproduce?

Steps:
1) Create a score with a Drumset.
2) Try to enter notes with Rhythm Input (should fail)
3) Add non-percussion instrument (eg. Picollo) and add some notes to it with Rhythm Input
4) Try to enter notes with Rhythm Input on Drumset again (should succeed)
5) Try to enter notes with Re-Pitch, using shortcuts shown on drumset (should fail)
6) Try to enter notes with Re-Pitch, clicking on the drumset icons (should succeed)

As a bonus, I got two different behavior for step 2:
A) In the First few attempts:
Doesn't work and note value shortcut gets broken. If try to use Step-TIme, they don't work anymore. Some random things may cause it to function again, like inserting a non-percussive instrument, adding some notes to it and going back to drumset.

B) Later attempts:
Doesn't work, but value note shortcuts switch the value selected.
Couldn't reproduce result A again yet.

I'm not familiar enough with percussion note input to help you, or I would.

Most of the developers are on their way to a convention in Belgium at the moment. They will no doubt check in on discussions while they're there, but they may not have access to the program to confirm their help is correct. If you don't get a good response by Feb 4, then post another note in this discussion to move it back to the top of the list so it will be noticed.

Indeed, rhythm mode doesn't seem to work for drumset, I'm guessing because it tries to enter a specific pitch that doesn't exist in the drumset. Not sure if this has been reported to the issue tracker (see Support menu above), but feel free to do a search and submit one if you don't find one already.
