multimeasure rest

I am using MuseScore 3. Usually using "continuous view." Orchestral score. When I click on "Add," then click "Measures," and click "Insert Measures," I type in the number of blank measures I want to insert in the score, for example "10." Then, a multi measure rest for ten measures is inserted instead of ten blank measures. I have not experienced this problem until recently and am (fortunately) unable to reproduce this problem in any other scores I have created in MuseScore 3 including orchestra or chamber ensembles using either Continuous View or Page View. This leads me to believe that it is possible that I have clicked on something by mistake, but I have no idea what and am confused why this problem would happen only with this particular score. Please advise.
