I have a score that the tempo markings work on and off.
I make a change to the score and go to play through the tempo changes but it.
It sticks with the tempo making at the start of the score.
Saving seems to fix it most of the time.

Has to do with the score having parts, if you remove them (and re-generate), tempo changes are playing back as they should.
Reg. metric modulations see #277320: Metric modulations AKA relative tempos don't set tempo right, but you also have that and a tempo change in the same spot, so MuseScore may apply either or both.
