I received a new updated today. I previously had a project opened. I allowed the update. Upon relaunching, MuseScore tells me that MuseScore quit unexpectedly. Do you wish to Restore Session. Either answering Yes or No will lead to a crash of the application.

Try to uninstall then reinstall. That worked for me on Windows, hopefully, it will work on your Mac as well.

Thanks for the duplicate find. I tried the factory procedure and the problem remains.

Yes. You are correct. It was worth a try. By the way, I urge people to read down into the post on (#285057: MuseScore 3.0.4 on macOS is Crashing on Startup)[https://musescore.org/en/node/285057], the workaround procedure you gave to open MuseScore by double-clicking on any .mscz file and then making a preference setting got me going again. Thanks for you support!
