timewise delete not deleting blank measure

I currently am working on transcribing a song with a piano and vocal part. I have an extra measure in one section, between bars 28-34, and am trying to delete one of the blank bars. Timewise delete. Cmd+delete. Nothing happens. I still have an extra bar. For the life of me, I cannot find a way to get rid of an empty measure that's not at the end and can be deleted with the trailing measures operation.

Works fine for me too. Are you sure you are selecting the empty bar? So a blue rectangle appears around it? Although actually, it does also work to just click the rest.
