Can't move staff text above fretboard diagram

I'm trying to make a diagram that shows guitar chords that I can screenshot and use for self reference. I've been dragging a fretboard diagram to the chord, editing it, then clicking on the chord and hitting ctrl + t, and I've been able to easily just drag the text above the diagram. Until the last few days. When I try to drag the text above the diagram, it just pushes them both up and keeps the diagram at the top. I need the text to go above the diagram. How do I do this?
