Note beams disappear when I hit Shift+Command+Up/Down arrow to change staves

1) Input consecutive notes with beams
2) Change staves by hitting Shift+Command+Up/Down arrow
3) Notes no longer have beams
4) Going to Beam Properties and trying to change things there does nothing

I can generally work around this, but as a harpist arranging harp music this function is vital for inputting arpeggios that cross both staves.

Sometimes I can work around this by deleting the whole measure and trying again, but most often I end up having to leave the notes in the staff I want to move them from, even though it's not ideal for music readability.
