AutoSave and Palette

• May 3, 2019 - 03:04

Hi all! I love this program, but keep forgetting to save my work and ruining it accidentally. I think it would benefit from an automatic save function, as well as an update to the palette system. I deleted the advanced and basic palettes while editing a custom one, then it crashed and didn't save, so I have no palettes and I can't drag anything from the master for some reason.

There is an auto save function that saves every 2 minutes by default. If you experience a crash, the next time you start MuseScore it will ask if you would like to restore your session. If you say yes the autosaved file(s) will be loaded. If you say no, the autosave files will be deleted. Auto save is found under Edit->Preferences->General

For palettes. It's best to just close MuseScore after you make significant changes to your palettes (significant means whatever you think it does). You can right click a palette and choose Save palette if you want to assure it is saved without restarting MuseScore. You can then right click a custom palette and load the palette later and it will be inserted near the palette you right clicked if you need to in the future.
