Having trouble with multimeasure rests
After I did the multimeasure parts for the first part, the rest of the song wants to be multimeasure too, how do I prevent this?

Don't use them until you're finished
Normally you shouldn't need to touch the multimeasure rest command at all, they are turned on automatically when you generate parts from your a score. Only in the special case where you are entering a part individually without the rest of the score would you need to turn them on manually. And in that case, indeed, wait until you are done entering notes.
But if after all of the above there is some strange reason for you to want to keep some measures not combined, right-click a measure and in the measure properties dialog tick the corresponding "Break multimeasure rest" box.
