1: Create a part of an unpitched percussion. (In my case, drumset)

2: Write some notes in

3: Drag and drop a "change instrument" text over a staff (later in the score)

4: Change it to any pitched instrument (In my case, glockenspiel)

5: Attempt to add notes to the staff (It will either fail to add or crash the program)

I will try to change to the clef to treble, but the clef will not change either.

A weird glitch I came across if you attempt to place notes through MIDI input, any note you place will be placed in the middle of the first staff line (treble clef F5 / bass clef A3)

Do you mean you are trying to change a staff from unpitched to pitched percussion? This is not supported indeed. But it shouldn't crash. If you have a case where it does, please attach the specific score in question and tell use more precisely how to reproduce the crash.
