Simply download a new score from Musescore.com and after Saving your new file the program will state that it is not responding, hang up and then crash. I have to go into Program Manager to close the program before restarting it and accessing my new file.

No, it certainly is not an update version problem, otherwise anyone else would have it too.

You wrote: Simply download a new score from Musescore.com and after Saving your new file the program will state that it is not responding
So what score are you talking about?

To be clear: there are many, many people who are using this update and no one else is reporting this, so it can't be a general problem in the update itself. It absolutely has to be something unique about your system and/or your scores. That is why we need you to attach a score, and ideally provide other information about your system (what OS, any special soundfonts you are using, etc).

I agree it's going nowhere, unfortunately. If you want it to go somewhere, please take the next step and post a score that doesn't work for you so we at least have a starting place for investigation.

Thanks, but nevermind! I'll work this out for myself. That original post of mine was not exactly what I wrote. Half was missing, which created confusion on both sides. However, the continuing posts were clear in that I stated the downloads were not the problem. The problem occurred immediately AFTER I downloaded the new update of MuseScore. And just to let you know - I know I'm not the only one having problems with the new program update crashing. I perused your site and the internet at large and there are other people having the same problem!

There are other people with the same issue, so please don't tell me otherwise. I perused your site and found that there are several other people who have had crashing issues on the same day as mine.
I'll address this problem myself, as you don't seem to understand what I am stating. The three files I downloaded work fine AFTER I close and restart the program. Therefore, it IS a program issue - NOT a file issue! No need for a reply! As I said, I'll work this out myself - one way or another!

I have no doubt that the you are correct to observe that the bug causing a particular score to crash MuseScore may have only started with the most recent version. But once again, we cannot begin to investigate if you won't share the score that triggers this, side the vast majority of scores work perfectly. We want to help; fixing crashes is very important to us. Please provide us the necessary information so we can help!

I just removed the updated version and returned to the prior version. Now I have no problem downloading anything from your site. It wasn’t any particular music file that caused the crashing. It was, is your new version that’s the problem! If the two if you who responded to my plea for assistance had looked at your update you would have found that it was the update itself that’s the problem. In the future, please don’t make the consumer the problem. Heal thyself first and you’ll find the answer.

So as you're apparently not going to tell us which score downloaded from musescore.com crashed for you, we can as well close this issue, unresolved.

Since it seems that somehow we have still not been clear:

No one is blaming you. We completely acknowledge that the latest version seems to have a bug that causes crashes with certain scores - including, apparently, the ones you tried downloading. You say it happens with "every" score, but as much as it may seem like it, this is simply not the case. We have tried to reproduce this ourselves and failed. We have literally run thousands of scores through and not been able to reproduce the problem you were having. So, again, we are not denying there appears to be bug, but after hours and hours and hours of trying, we have not been able to reproduce the problem. As unlikely as it may seem to you. whatever the bug is must only be triggered with the specific scores you tried. Either that or it might turn out to have something to do with something else unique about your system like some specific device driver on your system that MsueScore is not compatible with, which will require more work to diagnose. but once again, the starting point for further investigation has to be, your giving us at least one specific file that crashes for you, and telling us the steps to reproduce the crash. If that allows us to reproduce the crash, then we can take it from there.

We really want to fix the problem, but we need you to help us reproduce it.
