What happened to the icons for adding rests and beats?
Yesterday, I could enter notes by pitch and time. Today, times are no longer an option. The composition screen has stopped showing choices for rests or beats. I can enter nothing but whole notes.
How do I return to the (useful) composition screen?
We updated Windows today. We also updated MuseScore. Has anyone had a problem after doing either of those?

Hard to tell what exactly you mean, but I'm kind of guessing you accidentally closed the note input toolbar. Right-click the toolbar area and re-enable it. Or do the same from View / Toolbars. BTW, though, there are also keyboard shortcuts for durations (eg, 4-5-6 for eighth-quarter-half).
If that isn't it, please attach a screenshot so we can understand and assist better.
