Main score disappeared, leaving only the generated part

• Aug 26, 2019 - 10:06

MS 3.2.3, Windows 10
The score was originally created in MS 2.3.2, and still exists, so I haven't lost any data (other correcting the position of text in title frame), I'm just bringing the issue to the attention of MS.
The score is (was) for piano and voice. A voice part was generated from the main piano+voice score while it was still in the MS 2.3.2 format.
After opening the score in MS 3.2.3 and saving it in a separate folder, I went back to it and found that only the voice part remains, the main piano+voice score has disappeared.
Of the two attached scores, the one without "piano" in the file name is the corrupted score, the other is re-opened from the original 2.3.2 score in case that helps with any trouble-shooting. (It shows the text for composer, lyricist, and sub-title out of position, which is a known 3.2.3 issue.)

Sounds like you probably did a "save as" while viewing the part, which indeed saves only the part, but then you saved the new file directly on top of the old (and gave permission to overwrite the file when your OS tried to complain). That's the only thing I can think of that explain what you saw.
