Allow unsubscribe option to threads in "My posts" that one has contributed to but not subscribed to.

There are many posts which show up in "My posts" which are no longer of interest to me.

However, I cannot unsubscribe from them. An option to do so would be very useful.

Which ever. At present, the system is set up to permanently notify persons who responded to the thread of a new post.

I have been a user of this software pretty much from its beginnings - I have tried to be helpful and have answered many queries.

This now causes a jam of no-longer-useful posts in my feed. There are numerous new posts in many of these threads that already contain the answers. I have no intention of continuing to respond and would like to block them from "My posts".

My initial proposal is to expand the unsubscribe option to any thread that the user no longer wishes to follow.

I think we're stuck on semantics here.
A notification from a subscription means receiving an e-mail when someone responds to the thread. This is in itself not related to the listing of all topics you've participated in (which is what "My Posts" shows).

So yes, you're asking for a new feature; namely filtering "My Posts" narrower into "My Subscribed Posts"; which I believe to be a useful option indeed. So let's see if the web team can add it to their list of things.

My understanding: subscribing = receiving emails. If you're subscribed, you receive emails about updates. if you are not subscribed, you don't receive emails. That's the only thing subscribing controls: email. It has nothing to do with whether the thread shows up in the list of your posts. I'd rather unsubscribing didn't lie about that, but maybe there could be an additional option to "hide from list of posts" or something.
