Use voices

People always say "use voices" but I find that to be very un-intuitive. If I need to write a guitar voicing or piano voicing, or even stack closed brass voicings without "exploding them to staffs" from the get go, it makes little sense to use voices. Voices is more for separate lines that sometimes make up chords. What musescore needs is a way to stack notes on top of each other with stems going the same direction.

You can use chords too, of course, Just not with notes of different durations, like the OP, stack a dotted half note with a dotted quarter note
