Staff text for selected parts...

I do a lot of jazz septet scores. How do I place staff text in one part and not all of the others? In most cases one wants it to appear in all parts but there are times when I just want it to appear maybe in the rhythm section parts... or possibly a horn part.

I'm not sure I'm understanding, but I think you mean system text? Staff text is always associated with a single staff/part only. System text is attached to the top staff in the score but then al parts.

So to the extent I do understand what you are asking, I think you are actually using system text, not staff text, and the answer is to actually use staff text in the places you don't want it on all parts.
