Master Pallette
After a computer crash I reopened MuseScore to find that the Master Pallette has changed. Previously, it opened each function as selected within the column of functions. Now it opens the function to the right of the list and I cannot get it to reduce to just the list, so it's taking up valuable working space in the score. Help! What's happened?

I think you are confused between the Master Palette and just the regular Palettes window. The master palette has always looked like your picture, it's not something to average person should normally be needing to use very often (mostly just to create custom time signatures or access the Symbols palette). So, close that window, and instead open the regular Palettes window (also found in the View menu, or shortcut F9).

Thanks. Just worked that out but, for some reason the regular palettes window had depopulated itself and I've had to refill it. Goodness knows how that happened!

Hmm, not sure what you mean. There are two workspaces that come with MuseScore: basic & advanced. Each contains a particular set of items. If you're accustomed to advanced but switched to basic, some might seem missing, but all you need to do is switch back to advanced (control is top right of the toolbar). And in any event, no need to use the master palette even if you want to augment a palette over the defaults - just press the "more" button to see everything else available.
If that's not what you mean, could you explain further?

It happened to me in the last update.
The user palette I created was completely empty.
I recreated it.

The last meaning, 3.3.4? I can't think of what might have changed to cause that. If you mean 3.3, that shouldn't have happened either, but at least I could imagine how, if somehow there was was something in the XML file that the new palette implementation didn't like. Did you report this here? Did anyone ask you to attach the workspace file with the problem?

Yes; 3.3.4
And only the user palette "z01" I set and used was empty. The others (Basic, Advanced) were normal.
It was an easy problem to handle, I restored it in five minutes.
I stopped reporting things, just contributing.
