Fretboard Diagram Properties missing in Musescore 3.3.4

• Dec 21, 2019 - 23:14

When I right clicked a fretboard to modify its diagram in Musescore 3.3.4, I don't see its property entry in the pop up menu. Has this feature been deprecated?

For the record, this change was made quite a while ago, maybe around a year? Anyhow, if you aren't seeing the Inspector, it's possible you closed it, not realizing how valuable it is. You can re-enable it via the View menu, or using the shortcut F8.

The problem with the inspector for me is that it just takes up too much space (on a laptop screen). Perhaps there should be an easier way to enable/disable various screens than adjusting rather a large drop-menu (I'm thinking hover-over-edge-of-screen) ?

Edit: Oh, and function buttons are also awkward on laptop

Actually you can and should normally just leave the Inspector open. Unlike the old modal dialog, you don’t need to close it in order to continue working, nor do you need separate dialogs for fret diagram properties versus text properties versus note properties etc - one simple window that you can just leave open does it all. You can also easily apply the properties multiple elements at once, all sorts of other major advantages.
