Inputting notes as pairs

I am writing down a piece in 4/4 time where most of the notes are quavers (1/8 notes) but I don't want them to be shown in groups of four I want them beamed together in pairs. Is there a setting that will do this as rearranging the beam properties pair by pair is very laborious.
