Drum input with midi keyboard overridden by drum palette

Hi guys,
I've been transitioning to writing drum parts with my MIDI keyboard, and I've found that if I select a note with the drum palette, it will then completely ignore whatever note I'm using on the MIDI keyboard and always enter the note selected on the palette. There appears to be no way to deselect this note without restarting MuseScore.

Has anyone got any advice for me to fix this problem?
