Editing a measure number text might be useful in some cases (from Gould: behind bars page 257):
Comments
Measure numbers are generated automatically and as such not editable. You can change a measure's properties to offset the measure numbers
In reply to Measure numbers are… by Jojo-Schmitz
See the Gould example: What if you need 35a?
Also, you shouldn't be able to enter edit mode if that's the case.
I can't edit any measure number (more specificially: it is not possible to put measure numbers into edit mode) -> no bug
Measure numbers like you show Gould to mention are (currently) not supported by MuseScore -> by design
Might be worth a feature request.
You could 'fake' them as rehearsal marks. Or without those letters, via measure properties and measure number offset
You are right. Me too, I can't edit them anymore... I should've screenshot it when I could. I don't know how I got there...
Found it again.
1) double click: it is not editable
2) drag it around
3) Double click again: now it is editable
> Measure numbers like you show Gould to mention are (currently) not supported by MuseScore
Which is why this is a good suggestion ;-)
Please don't mix the bug reported here (measure number pretending to become editable after a drag) with the enhancement (allowing letters being appended to measure numbers, not yet files in the issue tracker)
According to the original description, this issue is about the enhancement. The bug is only recently added (https://musescore.org/en/node/301865#comment-982372).
No, it had initially been entered as a bug. Got closed as per design, then reopened with new information that prove the bug
