Problem is not clear to me from that video. But see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/drum-notation
It's not really clear what's going on there, the better way to ask for help is to attach a score and give us precise steps to follow. But first, make sure you have the current version of MuseScore, 3.4.2, there was a bug in one or two earlier versions that could result in the drum palette behaving unexpectedly in some cases.
