Custom font integration e.g. as symbols

Dear all

I am writing because I would like to know, how one could integrate
a custom font or symbols into musescore.

This request is related to my earlier posting in the forum:

I am wondering if musescore can be modified in a way that
Trommelfont is integratable as a "palette"?

The font is not yet GPLed but if I could create a palette on my
own, that would make the work a lot easier.
