Opening MuseScore during a Zoom call causing all Zoom audio to stop working
Not sure what would be causing this -- this only happens between MuseScore and Zoom from my experience. It seems similar to how Dorico by default sets itself to be the only program that can use sound on one's computer, but in this case it seems to exclusively be happening with Zoom. I've tested this with Discord to see if there were similar problems but there were none.
Here's the MuseScore version I'm on: OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.4.2.9788, revision: 148e43f
Thanks for any help.

This isn't related to my problem; that problem is asking about sharing MuseScore audio, whereas my problem is that opening MuseScore makes it so I cannot hear anyone else on a Zoom call talking, regardless as to whether Im sharing my screen. MuseScore's sound works fine, however, when this happens.

FWIW, I use MuseScore in conjucntion with Zoom all the time and have never had this problem on either Windows or Linux. I suspect it is something unique to your system, maybe the audio drivers or OS settings, or settings within Zoom, but unfortunately I can't really guess what.
I think this will work for all versions of Windows be it 7 or 10. When using zoom, just make sure that the audio device/driver used by Musescore and Zoom is different. This has worked all the times i've tried. Hope this will help
I have had the same issue. If I open MuseScore when on a Zoom call, the audio switches to MuseScore and I cannot go back to the Zoom call audio even if I close the MuseScore app. In the past, I have had to leave the meeting and rejoin (and the audio on zoom works).
I found a workaround. If MuseScore has been opened/is running before the Zoom call launches, the audio works as normal! I hope it works for you.
