Export to .mid

After I import a .mid file into Musescore and make minor changes to the file such as change a note, I am unable to then export the .mid file. The file extension says .mid but the exported file has no size (0 KB) and will not play in a media player. What am I doing wrong -- or is this a bug?

Attached is the original midi file I loaded into Musescore (BrazilianSuite.mid) and the .mid file I exported as a midi file (DflatBrazilianSuite.mid).

Which version of MuseScore?

I can import and export it too.
What is the the intermediate mscz looking like? What exactly (step by step) are the minor changes you did after the import? Are you maybe having a disk space issue?

Could also be you simply aren't waiting long enough for the export to complete, or the file is locked (you aren't trying to export to the same filename, are you?)
