Status bar display freezes after starting MuseScore

After starting up MuseScore the first set of information the status bar shows will not change, even if the target note is changed; i.e. instead of the status bar displaying the information connected to the selected note/bar, the display does not update. Changing the note on which information the status bar is stuck also does not affect the displayed information, meaning the bar is not just locked on one note/bar, it is frozen.
This happened for all the times I opened this version of MuseScore. Strangely enough, after installing MuseScore 3 to check if an older version also shows the issue, not only could I not reproduce it on the older version, it was actually gone on the 3.5 too.
